Queen Elizabeth Hospital is a hospital located in the government of Kota Kinabalu , Sabah , Malaysia . The hospital was formerly known as Hospital Jesselton in when completed in 1957. The hospital was changed to present name in conjunction with the development contribution from the government the British . Queen Elizabeth has made treatment of this hospital in 1971 .
The hospital was built with the main block at the end of the 1970's by the Public Works Department (PWD) and the block has been handed over to the hospital in 1981. The main block is an 8-storey building.
On October 24, 2008, Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai said that the hospital will be closed temporarily due to the results of the Company's concession Mediserve Faber and Public Works Department (PWD) Sabah find serious fault in the Main Tower Block and Podium, Forensic Block and House Boilers. Patients transferred to another hospital or private medical centers.
